Webinar on Global Research Prioritisation Study Results
As part of a study conducted by the Wellcome Trust and The Global Health Network (TGHN), Fiocruz invites you to the webinar entitled " Microbial Reservoirs and Transmission Dynamics of Escalating Infectious Diseases – Outcomes from the global research prioritisation study," via the Zoom platform, in English, and , with translation into Portuguese and Spanish, on March 6 at 10 a.m. Registrations are open until the event begins. The webinar is expected to feature presentations by TGHN Director Trudie Lang from the University of Oxford in the UK, Project AMR hub Coordinator Ryan Walker from the same university, Wellcome Trust's Head of Epidemics and Epidemiology Josie Golding from the UK, and Wellcome Trust's Research Manager for Microbial Communities and Reservoirs, Petra Fay.
In 2023, Wellcome and TGHN conducted a global survey on research investment priorities in the field of infectious diseases with the support and participation of Fiocruz, as well as various institutions in Latin America and the Caribbean. Subsequently, a workshop was held with researchers who participated in the survey to discuss funding priorities in infectious diseases in the region. The workshop was part of a series of regional meetings in Latin America, Asia, and Africa to inform Wellcome's funding decisions. The webinar is expected to include a presentation showcasing the results of the data collected in the survey and workshop report.
