Webinar addresses the use of interdisciplinary health data in the Amazon
The webinar “Using Interdisciplinary Data and Concepts in Research: theTrajetórias Project” will happen on 26th October, 1 pm (British Time), 9am (Brasilia time), organised by the Vice-Presidency of Education, Information and Communication (VPEIC) of Fiocruz, in a partnership that involves the Fiocruz Hub team from The Global Health Network (TGHN Fiocruz) with Fiocruz Scientific Computing Program (Procc/Fiocruz) it is open for registration to people who is interested in data science, health indicators, dashboard and research at the Amazon region. Simultaneous translation into English, Portuguese and Spanish will be provided.
The webinar will introduce the Trajetórias project dataset and it goals, as it will show how they produced interdisciplinary indicators with environmental, epidemiological, and economic data; in addition, it will make a synthesis of main results and potential uses. The "Trajetórias"(trajectories in English) dataset was developed linking human and environmental health to the rural techno-productive trajectories in Amazonian municipalities. In this event, we will launch the Trajetoriasdashboard, that allows the visualisation and interaction with the dataset and its indicators.
The Scientific Synthesis project, “Trajetórias”, nursed within the Synthesis Center on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (Sinbiose-CNPq) developed a framework for the joint debate of the economic, environmental, and human health solutions within the Amazon region.
The Amazon region, one of the most biodiverse biomes, is under threat due to increasing deforestation rates, intense extraction of minerals, and implementation of large-scale agricultural systems in a fragile environment. In Brazil, this biome is home for 30 million inhabitants, with a rich diversity of cultures. Providing economic solutions for this complex society demands ever-increasing knowledge exchanges between academic and non-academic disciplines.
