TGHN LAC and Fiocruz host free webinar on AI and health

Interpreting biological and health data is already part of daily scientific practice. To explore this topic, Fiocruz will host a free webinar on 16 May at 11am (GMT -3), titled “Single Cell Omics and Precision Medicine in the Age of Artificial Intelligence.”

This activity is part of the Scientific Sessions organised by the Scientific Computing Programme (PROCC) at Fiocruz, in collaboration with The Global Health Network Latin America and the Caribbean (TGHN LAC). The event will be streamed live on the Fiocruz YouTube channel, in Portuguese only (no simultaneous translation).

The speaker is Eduardo Beltrame, Assistant Professor of Computational Biology at the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI) in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Beltrame will present an overview of the experimental techniques used in single cell omics – an approach that examines individual cells to detect subtle differences, helping to improve personalised healthcare and design new types of clinical studies at lower cost and complexity.

The session will be moderated by Fabrício Alves, researcher at PROCC. The webinar also offers a valuable opportunity to connect with researchers working at the intersection of AI and precision medicine.

📌 Open to the public, no registration required.

🔗 Watch the live session here (Only in Portuguese).

Target audience includes students, researchers and professionals interested in the latest applications of computational science in biomedical research.
